Artificial Preservative Experiment
For this semester, I had sign up for Lucas' Biology Honors and it was an amazing decision of my High School life! If you are in Honors you will need to have done 4 warms up that has to do with the topic of Biology (ex. Aliens, extinction, cells and etc), have 5 misc. point which you can earn by either donating blood, clean Lucas room (5 times), or even beach clean up, a lot of options. Now last but not least the independent project, you decide what you want to do for the next 2-3 months which has to be about biology once again, but by June 1st you will need it to be finish and have at least 10 hours worth of effort put into it. My project is about artificial preservatives. I want to see which fast food chain or High Tech school cafeteria has the most preservatives in their food. I took a cheeseburger from McDonald's, In-N-Out, and school cafeteria and put them in a seal glass jar and record the progress every single day for the next 30 days. Besides documenting the burgers, I also record the data, edit a time-lapse video and a presentation to the class. Being in Honors is a lot of work, but it is also fun to work on something so interesting!
Time-lapse video are below!
